About the Author
Dr. Joseph T. Wells, CFE, CPA, is the founder and Chairman of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and has previously served as an adjunct professor of fraud examination at the University of Texas at Austin. He writes, researches, and lectures to business and professional groups on fraud-related issues and is frequently quoted in the media. He has won top writing awards from both Internal Auditor and the Journal of Accountancy, and is a winner of the Innovation in Accounting Education Award presented by the American Accounting Association. I truly enjoy this book and would recommend it to anyone in the profession or interested in becoming a part of it. While the book is very informative,including many facts and figures, it reads like one is having a session of "shop talk" with the author and telling war stories. I rarely have a hard time putting nonfiction down, but this book is truly a gem.

Excellent Overview of Corporate Fraud

This book reviews each type of corporate fraud and the many ways each type can occur. It has comprehensive statistics on the frequency of each type and the average costs. This handbook is a comprehensive and valuable tool for reviewing and upgrading internal controls.
