But once at the ranch she was surprised to find out how easy it was for her to get the job, and even more surprised to find out Christian was also a ranch hand there. Little did she know that he was much more than that.

Nice little read for the last weekend of the summer.

This a three point five rating.
A very sweet and warm book about a woman who is escaping New York and a life that was bound to swallow her and her son whole if she didn't get away. I loved Christian's affection for Jamal. It truly made me fall for his character.
The fact that the author wrote a sexy love story without the usual vulgar language is to be highly commended. Don't get me wrong. I don't mind vulgarity. It was just refreshing to read a story that conveyed all of the usual coupling with terms that seem forgotten today.
The things that bothered me with the book are esoteric and probably wouldn't faze the majority of readers.
I felt the story was a bit too short. At first I thought the formatting of the text was a glitch that happens sometimes on my kindle but in reality it was the intended formating. Each paragraph had three spaces between them. So a page full of dialogue might have ten lines of text on it. I wasn't sure of the book's timetable. Once she started working on the ranch I wasn't sure if the passage of time was in days, weeks or months. Finally, 20 kitchen assistants for the ranch with 30 ranch hands. Even high volume restaurants with a varied menu don't have 20+ people working to serve dinner. That part just drew me out of the story. It seemed tossed in there to emphasize how wealthy Christian was.
The story could use a few more complexities.
Overall it was sweet and I'd lend it to someone who wants a new book to read.

This is a great romance. Tiana Leaves NY from an abusive man and end up Meeting Christian who owns a ranch where she become the cook.

Should have been separate books!

This book was bundled with The Billionaire Forgotten Baby which was strictly pornography with little story content; and, Doctor of my Dreams which was a very short novella with little story content. The Love Ranch by Violet Jackson was so much better than either of the other two. I think The Love Ranch was negatively impacted by the other two. I'd rather have bought this book than receive it as part of a bundle which I was unaware of. This book had it all: humor, interracial love story, and mystery. The book could have been longer so that some of the characters could have been developed. I would probably read other books by this author.
